Going into 2016 we decided on a colour change and a nut and bolt rebuild, this meant the work we did towards the end of 2015 painting the engine bay white was wasted but we believe the fresh look is worth it Stripped out the rear for prep work ready for a coat of the new colour We will still be using our pearl black so the roof wont need any work but the new colour scheme will make our demo car stand out amongst the crowd We then stripped the whole of the underneath to start the preperation work for sealing and painting, The fuel tank was emptied, soda blasted prepped and primed ready for the top coat We primed the whole tank then used a product called raptor which is a truck bed liner for the topcoat. It gives a nice uniform look and and plenty of protection We also powdercoated the metal covers and fittings silver The underneath was cleaned degreased then cleaned of any surface rust and treated with rust inhibitors. Then etch primed with a black etch primer The rear subframe bushed looked tired and we wanted to powdercoat the subframe as well so the old bushed were removed There was a coller inside and after removal we found that these are not available to buy from the dealer or in aftermarket. This could be a problem........ So we had a set made from our own drawings and we will be making these available on our website soon :) We also wanted to add new brake pipes which are nickel which is better than copper and we have also coated them with a clear pvc heatshrink tubing like oem brake pipe are. We also used stainless steel ends/fittings Also new clips and fittings to secure them, We joined them inside the car under the rear seat as they were corroded and in need of replacing anyway Tank straps powdercoated and the tank refitted back up underneath We prepped the rear panel and sealed and painted that with the underneath Underneath is finally finished and ready for the rebuild Engine bay The underneath is looking a lot cleaner and fresher The underneath is looking a lot cleaner and fresher Transmission tunnel, few places where we had reactions which will be blown in and sorted afterwards Front end starting to come together SuperPro Arb, ALK, Roll Center Kit all fitted back on. We want to thank SuperPro for the sponsorship (28/12/2015) We wanted to upgrade the rear ARB mounts and went for a Perrin Stout Mount. Excellent quality and looks nice behind the wheel as well. We found that the clamp which holds the ARB bush in place was thicker as the Perrin bushes supplied were around 4mm wider. Now we were using SuperPro bushes (as they are our sponsor) so i have to machine the brackets down 2mm off each side then powder coat them Powder Coated and ready to fit Rear Suspension built back up, SuperPro ARB, Drop-links and Bushes. Perrin Stout Mounts with Modified Clamps for SuperPro Bushes. We found no bushes were available for the rear subframe from either Subaru or aftermarket manufactures so we did a tech drawing of what was needed and had them made ourselves. (SWRD REAR SUB FRAME BUSHES NOW AVAILABLE ON OUR WEBSITE)Powder coated Hubs and New Bearings also added. Also gave the Brembo's a flash of new colour. Going to be running K-Sports eventually but these will suffice for now Our new booth is installed so in with the demo car for some paint Our new booth is installed so in with the demo car for some paint Our new booth is installed so in with the demo car for some paint Our new booth is installed so in with the demo car for some paint Our new booth is installed so in with the demo car for some paint Our new booth is installed so in with the demo car for some paint Our new booth is installed so in with the demo car for some paint Our new booth is installed so in with the demo car for some paint Our new booth is installed so in with the demo car for some paint Our new booth is installed so in with the demo car for some paint Our new booth is installed so in with the demo car for some paint
